Rider University Broncs

An AJ Bronc practices for a mascot game at the MAACHOPS tournament here in Atlantic City in March. A high-level baseball camp is held at the beautiful Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Day Camp is a week-long, physically demanding baseball training camp for high school and college baseball players. Baseball Camp takes place every first Saturday of the month at the University of New York - New Haven's Field of Dreams.

Riders women's basketball team has twice reached the WNIT (2017, 2019) and was the number one in the MAAC in 2019 and 2020. Men's athletics won its first NCAA Division II title in 2017 and is currently coached by former Rider head coach and current coach of New Jersey State University, Mark D'Amico. 2015 - 16 NCAA Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships and 2016 - 17 National Championships in Athletics and Cross Country, as well as an NCAA Final Four appearance in 2016. The women's football team also participated in an NCAA tournament in 2014 and has won a MAAC title, a conference title and a national championship since 2014.

The 2012-13 Broncs led the most rookie riders to a season with 20 wins since Bob Greenwood led Rider to 20 season wins in 1962-63. The only other Rider basketball coach to notch 19 victories in his first season as head coach was the legendary Clair Bee. Bee called the athletics team Roughriders and was named director of athletics in 1931. He was also a member of the Regents Council of the State of New Jersey and the United States House of Representatives.

Rider brought Franklin B. Moore as a partner to the school's board, and Moore became its second president. Three years later, Rider Business College merged with the Steward Business School and was renamed Rider - Moore - Stewart School.

Other changes came in 1955, when the school's sports team was renamed the Broncs and dropped the nickname Roughriders. When it took over the name Rider College, it had been renamed several times, but it went back to "Broncs" as mascot. Rider University is recognized by the EPA as a member of the National Environmental Policy Institute (NEPI) and the US Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The baseball training program is intended for high school boys who want to become college baseball students - athletes. The university will provide the United States with access to the ECNL College Impact Catalog for the 2017-2018 academic year.
